I start painting –
The brilliance of the moon.
Only at midnight
Do my thoughts have clarity –
The chill of sunrise.
Early morning light –
Blue shadows around my eyes
And the studio door.
The night has passed–
The moon is lost in sunlight
In the stone garden.
